Sydney Day 3

Another good start to the day, although I didn't quite go for the full Australian. We took a cab down to Europcar and picked up our chariot for the next 6 days - a Hyundai Elantia (what a powerhouse). Although we were upgraded from the bargain basement Mitsubishi Mirage that we had ordered so I guess I should be grateful for small mercies. We went on a spin down to Bondi to catch some surf culture, but only managed to paddle in the water (this is 'bluebottle' season, stinging jellyfish, and I don't like these kinds of nasties in the sea). Anyway it was very pleasant and we managed to have a nice leisurely lunch on the front.

Off again in the car in the direction of the Olympic Village towards Paramatta, but unfortunately a combination of traffic and bad navigation defeated us (although I still maintain that the maps were wrong) and eventually we headed back into the city. After returning the key to the hotel after I had inadvertantly kept hold of it after checking out, we headed on to our next destination - a short stay with friends in the 'burbs. I wouldn't mind my morning commute including a drive over the harbour bridge...

Hey - who's the dumb tourist in the hat?
