After reaching Queenstown we made our way to another site just past a place called Glenorchy. The road from Queesntown to Glenorchy yielded some of the most amazing views I have ever seen - it was a really nice ride. When we got to Glenorchy however, the nature of the drive changed somewhat. The scenery was still lovely but it turned into a bit of a mission as the road was unmade and the area looked somewhat deserted (although typically as soon as I got out to have a pee another car turned up out of nowhere). Eventually, after much eyebrow raising from Karen, we made it to the site of Isengard. Cool - I was pretty chuffed at having found it, Karen was somewhat less so :-) Still she tolerated me on the condition that this was our one and only LOTR day. Isengard:
You'll just have to imagine the tower because, of course, the Ents helped to destroy it (in fact you'd be hard pressed to tell it was ever there).
