Seems like EMC are doing pretty well at the moment. One thing that has been puzzling me for a while is what they want with VMWare though. Now that I find out that they have been buying other software companies (such as Documentum), it all makes a little more sense, though. I was chatting to Mike the other day and we were speculating about the fact that maybe EMC has decided that hardware is getting too commoditised and it is time to diverge.
